Knowledge is Power!
I am a strong advocate of education! Since it is such a big part of me I wanted to share with you a summary of my education!!
I graduated high school with two years of college completed! As soon as I graduated high school I only had two years left until I had an undergrad! However, like most people, I changed my major a few times. I started out in the elementary education program. I learned priceless lessons that I have kept with me about teaching young children.
I then changed my major to secondary health education (to be a high school health teacher). I did that for a semester and learned that wasn’t for me. I had to observe over 200 hours in a high school class and I had to teach that class when I was done. It’s good I learned early that it wasn’t for me. I LOVED the health aspect of it, and I loved learning about being a teacher. It was the high school age that I realized I wouldn’t be a good fit.
Last, I decided to focus more on the Health Education portion and went into post secondary health education through community health. I taught 3 different semesters at a local university.
So if I get extra excited about health and wellness, now you know why!
